🍽️ Where to eat in Gallipoli
Gallipoli’s historic centre is full of trattorias and fresh fish restaurants, but quality varies enormously. Our advice is to avoid the restaurants directly on the tourist seafront and instead look for the inner lanes of the old town, where the locals eat all year round. Look for menus written by hand on a blackboard — it is always a good sign. The local blue fish (anchovies, mackerel, sardines) is excellent and very affordable.
For an authentic breakfast, Bar del Canneto — where we also serve our own guests’ breakfast — is the meeting point for fishermen and neighbourhood residents. Warm pasticciotti, Salento-style coffee and a genuine atmosphere just steps from the B&B.
🅿️ Free parking
Gallipoli has a reputation for being a difficult city for parking, but those who know the area are well aware that free car parks exist and are conveniently located. The golden rule is not to look for parking directly on the seafront or in front of the bridge — almost all of those spaces are paid in high season. The streets of the Canneto neighbourhood, where our B&B is located, offer free parking in the immediate vicinity. We will give you precise directions at check-in.
🏖️ Less crowded beaches
In addition to the main beaches described in our complete guide to the beaches of Gallipoli, there are some coves and stretches of coastline that tourists rarely reach. We are always happy to share these with you in person at check-in — they are our favourite spots, and we prefer to pass them on directly to our guests.
🛒 Useful services
The map also shows the location of the nearest ATMs, laundries and supermarkets around the B&B. Gallipoli is well served for everything you might need, with shops and services concentrated in the new part of town just a few minutes’ walk from the property.
